A student can understand the material completely and still get stuck: staring at a blank page, forgetting what's due, shutting down before they've even opened the laptop, or just never starting.

Kaitlin works right there, in that stuck spot, using whatever the student's actually working on that week.

What sessions look like

Executive Functioning:

  • Getting organized
  • Planning ahead
  • Managing time
  • Actually getting started
  • Staying with it when it gets hard
  • Gradually building independence

Academic Coaching:

  • Working directly with a student's current curriculum — an essay, math unit, or project
  • Breaking down complex assignments into manageable steps
  • Creating systems they can apply to future work

It's not tutoring. Kaitlin isn't teaching French or math; she's teaching the skills to handle any subject.

No two students get the same plan. Younger kids usually have parents more involved; teens tend to take the wheel themselves.

Who this is for

  • Strong students, no system yet. Understand the material, but haven't built a way to stay organized and get it all done.
  • Big transitions. New school, new grade, more independence.
  • Overwhelmed by assignments. Benefit from a clear, structured plan to make the workload feel more manageable.
  • Worn-out families. Ready for the homework battle to stop straining the relationship with their kid.
No diagnosis required.

What coaching is — and what it's not:

This is executive function and academic coaching. It isn't therapy, counselling, a psychological assessment, medical treatment, or subject tutoring.

How to get started

Step 01

A quick call first.

No pressure — just a chance to see if it's a good fit.

Step 02

Getting started.

Conversations and a few questionnaires help set goals around the student's own strengths and needs.

Step 03

Ongoing sessions.

A plan going in, then a real check-in on how it actually went.

Kaitlin Murczek, OCT

As an Ontario Certified Teacher, Kaitlin observed a common trend: capable students often struggle with the foundational skills that are, often, not explicitly taught in the classroom.

Her practice bridges the gap between understanding academic material and successfully managing the process of completing it.

Background

  • Specialist training in special education and reading
  • Training in child mental health, crisis prevention, and restorative practices
  • Bachelor of Arts in psychology and French, Trent University
  • Bachelor of Education, Queen's University

She's taught in mainstream and Special Education classrooms in England, York Region, and now Toronto — always from a neurodiversity-affirming, whole-person point of view.

Kaitlin believes that a student's progress is about more than just grades; it's about how they navigate challenges and develop resilience.

She fosters a supportive environment where students gain the confidence to take ownership of their own learning journey.

How Kaitlin works

Students pick their own goals.

People stick with plans they actually chose.

Sessions end with something concrete.

Not a theory — an actual next step the student can do this week.

The real win is needing her less.

Success looks like more independence over time, not more sessions.

Wondering if this is a fit? A consultation request is just a short form and a conversation.
